Welcome to the Core of the Canadian Rockies
Nestled near the southern end of the Canadian Rockies and alongside the Elk River, Fernie is a paddling playground, whether you simply want to float through the city from the North Bridge to the West Bridge, or you’re looking for a guided whitewater excursion on some gnarlier fare. Rivers of note in the area including the Elk, the Bull and the Wigwam and dozens of lakes, such as Maiden Lake located right in the heart of the city.
